3 Reasons To Fill Your Mind With Positivity

It is important to fill your mind with positivity for multiple reasons, and I am going to give you three. Your mind takes in a lot, and your subconscious holds on to things more than you think.

I used to not think much about what I watched, listened to or read. It was all more for entertainment than nourishment.

It wasn’t until the end of college or after that I realized the more suspense shows really upped my anxiety levels.

With that, I realized what I was listening to, reading, watching, it all influenced my perspective on every day life. That is when I became more conscious of what I was feeding my mind.

Why Fill Your Mind With Positivity?

1. Keeps An Open Mind

Having an open mind can help you to have more of a positive outlook on life in general. When something unexpected happens you have positive thoughts already in your mind that will help you through a difficult situation. Whether it be minor or major, you can get through it, and a positive outlook will certainly help.

2. Helps With Anxiety

People have different triggers and things they deal with. Someone with anxiety, or even just stress, is closer to the edge of their seat than the next person. Because of that, having suspense or negativity pour into your brain, can push you off the edge faster than you think, and suddenly you hit the floor.

I definitely rarely ever have nightmares because I am aware of what I fill my mind with, especially before bed.

3. Provides Growth

This is similar to number one, but I am touching a little more on how much you can grow. The way you think and even feel when you are aware of how you nourish your brain is amazing.

I remember when I started listening to a Christian radio station, Joyfm, my husband joked with his friend how my attitude had changed lately. I was not letting little things get to me near as much.

Ways To Fill Your Mind With Positivity

  • Listen to positive music or podcasts
  • Ditch the scary suspense movies
  • Watch uplifting shows or movies
  • Follow inspirational people on social media
  • Turn off the News
  • Read inspirational books and devotionals
