WHAT SURFACES IS THIS SOFT SCRUB GOOD FOR?
This is great for anything that needs a little grit to clean! My favorite spot is my stovetop. I find that it really melts away most things that were spilled and I can scrub away the rest with a little more. Then, I usually use my All Purpose cleaner for a final cleaning and since my stove is gas, I use my Glass cleaner to give it a nice shine!
I also love using this soft scrub in my sinks, on countertops and bathtubs, to give them a good cleaning.
Since this does have baking soda in it, which is abrasive, you would not want to use it on surfaces that it would possibly scratch, such as glass or mirrors.

INGREDIENTS FOR NON TOXIC SOFT SCRUB
- Baking Soda
- Castile Soap
- Distilled Water
- Lime Essential Oil
- Lemon Essential Oil
Ingredient 1: Baking Soda
Baking soda seems to be a jack of many trades. It has been used throughout the ages for many things, one of them being cleaning! Baking soda works great to help eliminate odors and with its abrasive nature, its grit works great to dislodge particles and remove stains from many surfaces. Baking soda works to dissolve dirt and grease build up. So, it is very effective in cleaning a number of spots in the kitchen! For a super quick nightly sink scrub, I love just sprinkling some baking soda over my sink with a few drops of citrus essential oil. Mmmmmm Love waking up to a clean and sparkling sink! I usually use the soft scrub once a week to give it a really good scrub or if we’ve been a little messy while cooking.

Ingredient 2: Lemon & Lime Essential Oils
Lemon is the top-selling dōTERRA essential oil, and for good reason! It has multiple benefits and uses. Lemon is a powerful cleansing agent that purifies the air and surfaces. It also works as a natural deodorizer, without anything artificial. Gotta love that.
Limonene is the main chemical component within lemon essential oil, which has strong antimicrobial actions. This helps kill microorganisms, which is what makes it a top choice for a cleaning agent.
Lime also has a high limonene content. The main constituents in Lime essential oil are Limonene, β-pinene, and γ-terpinene. All of these contribute to its ability to fight several strains of bacteria that can be problematic.
How do you know if your essential oil has these constituents in high amounts? Each bottle of dōTERRA essential oil comes with a batch number that you can enter on the Source to You website to check the levels of compounds that are in that exact bottle. How cool! Scientists check each bottle to be certain that you are really getting what you expect.
Ingredient 3: Distilled Water
I prefer distilled water in my cleaning supplies because the water is heated to leave behind certain contaminates like virus and bacteria. Tap water can contain these contaminates, so I like to choose a super clean water to avoid adding these to my cleaning supplies!
WHY A GLASS CONTAINER?
Glass containers are a great choice for housing blends with essential oils because the oils can interact with the plastic. Also, if the bottle will be left out or you think the blend will be in there for a long time, amber bottles with the dark tint, help protect the oils because they are sensitive to light. I use a clear glass bottle when I am frequently remaking my supplies and I always store in a dark pantry.
