I am going to fill you in on some of the best essential oils to start with that focus on health. These are specific to Doterra’s Healthy Start kit, which is a great group of essential oils to start with.

The Healthy Start kit was the kit I began my oil journey with! It is the perfect kit for someone wanting to start swapping things in their home with more natural solutions.  It has the top ten most popular oils from doTerra and also includes a diffuser.

There are seriously soooo many things you can do with this combination of oils! I’m sure there are over a hundred uses!  It also includes DoTerra exclusive oils blends, which are bottled as a blend of essential oils, including OnGuard, Breathe, DigestZen and Deep Blue.

With DoTerra oils, you can be confident that your oils are safe, pure and effective.  DoTerra sets extremely high standards in sourcing as well as testing.  They check each and every bottle, and you can too at sourcetoyou.com!, to be sure the chemical components are up to par and everything is exactly how they say it is.

I really felt like this combination of oils let me easily get my feet wet with trying single oils themselves and also combining different oils together to see what my family used most and just to explore so many possibilities and uses I didn’t even think of originally.  Here are the oils included:

More Info On Healthy Start Kit Essential Oils

There are usually a handful of items you can use each oil for but here are some of my favorite ways I use each oil.

Breathe

Breathe is great for supporting airways.  All stuffed up or have a cough, rub diluted to the chest and feet, diffuse at bedtime and add a few drops to the shower floor during your shower routine to promote easy breathing!

DigestZen

This is great for any tummy troubles.  Queasiness or an upset stomach, apply diluted and massage in.

Deep Blue

Anything sore, this is my go-to.  Sore back, sore neck, sore legs… add a few drops with some fractionated coconut oil and massage in…

Frankincense

Oh, gosh! I think the question is, What can Frank not do?!  Frankincense is great for cellular health.  It is great for the skin in general and for healing.  I use it in my skin serum and my Owie Spray, basically anything that may have inflammation.  Definitely the King!

Lemon

I use lemon a ton in the kitchen! I love using it in hand soaps, homemade cleaning supplies, to remove anything sticky, temporary tattoos, permanent marker from the countertops or crayon from the walls.  Definitely one I reorder often!!

Lavender

Oh lavender.  Diffusing, adding it to Epsom salts to add to a bath, adding to bathroom hand soaps, all yes! I also apply it to bumps or scratches for its soothing and calming properties.

OnGuard

Any time I am just starting to feel something coming on, this is one I grab.  Apply to your feet and spine and also put it in the diffuser!  I use it for my hand soap combined with lemon in the kitchen for its germ fighting properties and lemons degreasing properties.  Definitely a perfect pair for that!

Oregano

The main thing I use this for is my immunity roller.  It has amazing antibacterial properties, so I always definitely want to soak up its benefits

Peppermint

Peppermint is great to diffuse in the morning with a citrus such as lemon or wild orange for an uplifting and invigorating scent to start my day.  I love running a few drops from my hands through my hair as part of my morning routine to get that refreshing, start the day feeling!  Peppermint is also a great insect deterrent, so you can add a few drops around a window sill if ants are trying to get inside for the apple pie 😊

Tea Tree (Melaleuca)

This is a ‘hot’ oil – meaning you want to especially make sure it is diluted before applying it.  You can dilute it with any carrier oil.  Fractionated coconut oil is my go to.  I love to apply tea tree diluted to my nails for nail health.  I also add a few drops to towels or shin guards tossed in a laundry sink with water that has a dingy or unpleasant smell. When my kids or I have an itchy bug bite, I also use it in combination with peppermint and lavender. It works wonders!
