5 Tips To Make Your Front Porch More Welcoming

Today, I am giving you 5 tips to make your front porch more welcoming. With just a few items, you can transform your front porch from boring to welcoming.

Your front porch is your first impression to your guests. While it isn’t the most important thing, it can be nice to create a welcoming area.

Plus, I, myself, enjoy it more when I am outside. It all just looks a little more put together and is pleasing to the eye.

1. DOOR DECOR

Add some decor to your door. I used a faux eucalyptus wreath and added and sign and ribbon to it. I have honestly been planning to exchange it with something birds cannot create a nest in- as 2 birds flew into our house during spring- but they have seemed to stay away since.

2. WELCOME MATS

Add a welcome mat to catch any dirt before someone enters your home, but also include a base mat for a little more personality.

3. GREENERY

Fresh greenery is always a go to. Adding a fern to each side helps frame out the door. I reused planters from the fall that previously had mums in them.

I also have a growing plant in the back. Another one is not necessary, but it does help offset the stool.

4. LEVELS

Adding a tall stool, or something a little taller, helps bring in more levels. It carries the eye from the greenery on the ground up to the door wreath. Without it, there would be a little bit of a gap.

This stool was sitting in my parents basement storage, not being used, so when I saw it, I knew I could out it to good use!

5. ACCESSORIES

Bringing in accessories will finalize the look. I love this galvanized watering can because I actually use it to water my plants, and I just added the ribbon to it.

You could add a sign, lantern, pillow, throw, etc.
